CEO and Co-Founder
Alex is a veteran of the family office community for almost a decade; working as Managing Partner with his own family office, Felman Family Office, on the ground with local families in Brazil, China, Denmark and South Korea and remotely with other family offices around the globe. He uses his expertise in Molecular Toxicology and Bio-entrepreneurship (B.A from University of California -Berkeley, MBA from Copenhagen Business School) to advise them in biotechnology, healthcare, and other futuristic tech industries with the goal of maintaining long-term wealth through innovation.
He is personally involved with a number of early-stage companies having previously worked as a general partner of Venture Labs, an early stage venture capital/ incubator fund as well as a mentor, advisor, serial entrepreneur and director of numerous startups. Alex is an expert in helping companies with business plan creation, product development, operations, successful market launches, and fundraising.
Before getting into tech, Alex spent many years in education working for the Korean government and training corporate clients from firms such as Visa, Nokia, Loreal, Unilever and Vale in communication.
CIO and Co-Founder
Jewell is a molecular biologist turned corporate innovation expert / communications strategist who is also an angel investor + venture scout. She has lived and worked in Tsukuba, Japan, New York, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Berlin and Copenhagen throughout her career. As a market positioning, product launch and innovation expert she has worked for organizations such as Roche, Procter & Gamble, Amgen, Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, and METRO Group AG.
Jewell's training in molecular biology + art (Haverford College), and business (MBA in Strategic Planning, Global Markets and Corporate Communications from University of San Francisco) enables her to identify, cultivate, build, and scale innovation concepts and business models that lead to sustainably inclusive solutions for environment and society. Her initiatives at BiTHOUSE Group (tech scouting and development) and United17 Venture Lab are vehicles through which she supports innovative solutions from across the globe. She utilizes an inclusive lens and is passionate about supporting solutions founded by women and underrepresented groups. .
Jewell serves as a juror and board member for organizations such as: IADAS (International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences), Real Time Academy, and Female Filmmakers Festival Berlin, European Institute of Technology and amongst others and is an active advisor/mentor to several startups and accelerator programs such as Select USA's Global Women in Tech mentorship network. She is a guest lecturer of Corporate Innovation and Digital Transformation as well as an advisor to Germany's top business school, WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management. “Bridging the Gap,” by “Connecting the Dots” is her motto.
